Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong

Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2014. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Eighth Quorum of the Seventy in the Asia Area. He recently served as a member of the Asia Area Presidency. He is currently serving as president of the Canada Vancouver Mission.

Elder Wong received both a bachelor of science degree in accounting and an associate of science degree in computer science from Brigham Young University–Hawaii. In 2008 he received his MBA from the Hong Kong Open University. He was the founder and partner of a business and quality consulting company. Prior to this, he worked many years at a materials testing and inspection group, where he began as a senior accountant and left the company as a deputy managing director.

Since joining the Church in 1982, Elder Wong has served in numerous Church callings, including ward financial clerk, ward clerk, Sunday School president, Young Men president, counselor in a bishopric, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, and stake president.

Chi Hong (Sam) Wong was born in Hong Kong SAR, China, on May 25, 1962. He married Carol Lu in July 1983. They are the parents of four children.
