The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Middle East/Africa North Presidency has issued the following statement upon the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi on Friday, May 13, 2022.
On behalf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we express our sincere condolences upon the passing of His Highness the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi on Friday, May 13, 2022.
He served as the president of the United Arab Emirates since November 3, 2004. He will long be remembered by his country for leading a nation that reflects generosity, character, wisdom and tolerance. May the memory of his exemplary contributions and devotion to serving his people and country be enhanced by the continued peace and prosperity of the nation of the United Arab Emirates.
We join our hearts in prayer with all those who mourn his passing. May the peace of God be with his family and the people of the United Arab Emirates.
