Elder Allen D. Haynie

Elder Allen D. Haynie was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America West Area. He is currently serving as a member of the North America Northeast Area Presidency, having previously served as a member of the Philippines Area Presidency.

Elder Haynie received a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1982 and a juris doctor in 1985, both from Brigham Young University. He practiced law for 25 years with the international law firm Latham and Watkins. He subsequently opened his own law firm, Haynie Law Group.

Elder Haynie has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Argentina Córdoba Mission, elders quorum president, Young Men president, seminary teacher, high councilor, bishop, and stake president.

Allen Decker Haynie was born in Logan, Utah, on August 29, 1958. He married Deborah Ruth Hall in December 1983. They are the parents of six children.
