    First Counselor in the Middle East/Africa North Area Presidency to Serve in the United Arab Emirates

    To better support the work of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Middle East/Africa North Area, Elder Adilson de Paula Parrella, First Counselor in the Middle East/Africa North Area Presidency, will begin an extended temporary assignment to serve in the United Arab Emirates.

    This assignment will enable the Area Presidency to better support Church members from many nations who live in the area, direct the expanding humanitarian activities of the Church in the region, participate in initiatives with local organizations promoting interfaith tolerance and peaceful coexistence and monitor Church facility investments.

    The Area Office for the Middle East/Africa North Area will remain at the Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
